A lifetime of descents await you with Alaska Rendezvous Guides

The Core Speaks

Here's what the professional skiers and riders are saying about their time with us in Alaska:

- Kent Kreitler

"Big mountain skiing in Alaska is intense, overwhelming and totally satisfying! The scale and expanse of the terrain with its steepness and snow quality cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. Alaska Rendezvous Guides creates a satisfying and secure experience that enhances the best of everything that is Alaska.
Having known Theo Meiners for more than 30 years, I've found him to be one of the most intense and passionate people on the planet. His personal intensity calms, as he tames the intensity of the Alaska environment. With competence, confidence and passion, Theo and his team will share with you an experience of a lifetime!"

"Theo's the man! We hung out at ARG this last spring to shoot for the first ever all-high-definition big mountain ski film, Waiting Game. We couldn't have had a better experience. The new lodge facilities are hands down the best on Thompson Pass and right out the front doorstep is Mt. Billy Mitchell and endless terrain! Theo gave personal attention to everyone in the crew to help take their skiing to a higher level on every run, and we got to open up a ton of the classics. ARG has definitely become an annual spring stop on the world tour!"
-Jon Klaczkiewicz

Another day of untracked pow"I sat around trying to think of something about my experience with ARG, and a quote came to mind from a friend: "I can't predict the future. All I know for sure is wherever i'm going, it's skiing that's taking me there."
"If you are looking for an experience, ARG will provide it. Everything changes so fast nowadays. ARG has its finger on the pulse and has changed with the future. Alaska is rugged and has been changing as well. It has changed from crappy food, non-existant sleeping conditions, broken-down helicopters, and just plain uncomfortable living conditions on Thompson Pass to what ARG has created—a top notch, high-tech heli-ski lodge.
"ARG makes it possible to experience the world's best skiing at a premier location in the Chugach. I can't thank you guys enough. I had a complete riot!! The future is ARG, and they will take you there. Trust me."
-Jason Tattersall

"Simply put Alaskan Rendezvous Heli Guides played a big role in a life changing experience that took place on my first trip to great state of Alaska. The Chugach range is unbelievable. A.R.H.G accesses some of the best terrain in the range. With its base camp right at the bottom of Billy Mitchell — one of the most impressive Chugach peaks — Theo and Bruce can get you from the lodge to jaw dropping terrain in five minutes. The pilot Shamus is a real ace. He is a plesure to fly with. There's no doubt that Shamus will get you to the sickest L.Z. A.R.H.G is a real-life skier paradise.... on steroids!
There is one thing for sure, I will be spending every spring for the remainder of my skiing career up in A.K. hanging with Theo and his crew at Alaskan Rendezvous Heli Guides."

"I've been riding in Alaska in the Thompson Pass for the past 10 years. In that time I have flown with most of the heli-ski operations in the Valdez area, including the days with Chet Simmons back in the early 90's. Chet flew a Bell Jet Ranger and carried a 9mm in his Northface pants; never scared to pop off a couple of rounds unannounced. Although the days with Chet will always be appreciated, much has changed over the years with A-Star helis replacing the Jet Rangers and the 9mm guns losing out to tranceivers, shovels and guides. Safety finally became the number one concern and numerous services posted up to battle it out for the heli business. Last season, we were fortunate enough to hook up with the Alaska Rendezvous Heli Guides. Nate Cole and I had two photographers and we managed to get a private ship with Theo and Ed as our guides. They understood what kind of terrain we were looking for and the fact that we wanted to step it up as much as possible (conditions permitting). They accommodated us while keeping safety the main factor, which is sometimes difficult with the rider-guide relationship. Last season was one of my favorite trips to Alaska on the ten-year scale. I'd like to thank Theo and Ed, the Rendezvous Service, and everyone else I've flown with who has managed to keep us safe in the Chugach mountain range."

"I had an incredible skiing experience with the Rendezvous crew — some of the most memorable runs of my life. I was very impressed with Theo's attention to safety and the comfort and well being of his guests. Our guide, AJ, was able to lead us into some awesome terrain in a relaxed but risk-aware style. I really enjoyed the friendly, "no attitude" atmosphere at the Rendezvous. I highly recommend the Rendezvous to first time Alaska skiers as well as veterans of the Chugach."

"Rendezvous Heli supplied me with one of the best trips into the Chugach that I have ever been on. The fact that they fly from 45 mile is really enough, but the experience of the guides and their motivation to ride the good stuff makes this operation top shelf. Thanks again Theo."
- Nate Cole

"Last winter was the first time that I got to experience heli-skiing the peaks of Alaska. I was very excited as it was a dream come true, but I was also kind of nervous with the thought of charging down these 'much bigger and steeper than what I'm used to' mountains (Le Relais!!). Theo and Ed, my guides, did a great job of making me feel safe but yet, still respectful. Even though all the guides at Rendezvous Heli-skiing are all experienced professionals that are taking their jobs very seriously, the atmosphere still remains fun and laid back. The renegades of heli-skiing made my trip even better than how I imagined it!"
- JP Auclair

"I have logged some of my best days ever with Theo and his crew in AK. Most guides will pull the reins in and not let you drop the sick lines. Theo has taken me to some of the classics while not compromising our safety. His expertise in snow science, understanding of the terrain and desire to ski the best lines makes him one of the best to fly with in AK. One of my most memorable days was when Theo took Wendy Fischer, Woody Lindenmeyer, Steve Reska and myself to open the Pyramid, the Elephant and the Bowling Ball."
